about

Mobius is an on-going audiovisual project, initiated by visual artist Miao Jing and music producer Liu Yiwei in 2020. In the Mobius project, an audiovisual performance of the same name will be presented in the form of a duo electronic band. Mobius' project discusses the folding of time and space, influenced by the connection between Wuji and Taiji from Daoist philosophy. In terms of music and sound, Mobius travels from “Zhu Zaiyus’s Huang Zhong Dalv Qu” in Ming Dynasty to come across pioneers of the “12 Equal Temperament” in the west. Mobius benefits from the concept of contemporary electronic music but doesn’t want to be fitted in any music genre. It explores possibilities in a boundless world and only uses the most natural way to recreate the balance and detune of dynamic and frequency. The experience can be like a thunderstorm or can be psychedelic with an acoustic or colorful tone.
